A Busy May (May – June 2013)

Dear Temple Sinai Congregants,

May is here and hopefully spring will stay to rejuvenate our spirits and our souls. May will be a busy month at Temple Sinai and I hope many of you can participate in the variety of programs and worship services. We are so full of activities that Mitzvah Day is sharing the building with the Sisterhood Rummage Sale on May 5. After you clean out your basements and attics and bring items for the rummage sale, stay for the bargains and then join the Temple Sinai team of walkers for the FoodShare Walk against Hunger.

As you know, May 19 will be our Annual Meeting this year. I hope this change in date will be more convenient for many of you and I encourage you to attend this important event. I am very excited about our slate of officers as well as having the opportunity to share highlights of the past year with our members. Please join us at 9:00 for a continental breakfast and call Joyce in the office if you will need babysitting for children who are not in Religious School.

May is also a time for many special services. Please check the front page of this bulletin for details and dates. The Confirmation and Youth Group services are always meaningful and we will celebrate Shavuot in between. I hope you can also join us for the service on May 24 when the board of trustees will be installed.

I have mentioned our new website in the past and I hope many of you have had a chance to visit it. Please send your comments, suggestions for changes, etc. to webmaster@sinaict.org. Our website committee wants this to be a place that is helpful both to our membership and others visiting the site to find out about Temple Sinai.

Many of us were fortunate to enjoy the wonderful Shabbat dinner on April 12 that was planned and presented by Ann Speyer and other Sisterhood volunteers. The Temple board will be meeting in June to plan dinners for the coming year which should be events also worth attending. It is an opportunity for members of all ages to come together and celebrate Shabbat as a Temple family.

b’Shalom
