Warm greetings,
I’ve been warmed this cold winter by the generosity of our members on our Mitzvah of the Month events. BEST Cleaners in Windsor and the Spanish Speaking Center & Food Pantry in New Britain were the recipients of the coat drive. There were seven large bags and one full box of coats which will keep our neighbors warm. We also had several Valentine’s day cards created by our members to send in February!
March — the Mitzvah of the Month project for is a Children’s Book Drive in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. We will have collection boxes in the lobby for your donations.
April — The Mitzvah of the Month will be our spring food drive; we will also kick off our Mitzvah of the Month for May: the Walk against Hunger. There will be more about the Walk in the next bulletin.
Foodshare Training — We hope to have a training date at Foodshare in April. Donated food from other organizations and stores needs to be delivered in the morning. If you would like to donate some time for Foodshare, this is an excellent opportunity. Stay tuned for details.
Our next Social Action Committee meeting is Tuesday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m. We welcome new members to our committee and hope you will join us.
