Religious School Newsletter (April 2013)

Spring is in the air!

Religious School has been flying by so quickly and we have been very busy. Purim was celebrated with a festive Purim service followed by a Purim carnival. A special todah rabah (thank you) to the hard work of our Youth Director, Mitzi Young, and the teens in NUTSY who organized and ran the fun-filled carnival for all to enjoy. Passover was celebrated with classroom Seders throughout our school. Children sang the Four Questions, leamed about the order of the Seder, tasted traditional foods and experienced some holiday traditions.

The 3rd graders will participate in the Shabbat service on Friday, April 5 at 6:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars and come to this special service.

On Sunday, April 7, from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. the 7th graders and parents will participate in an important experiential workshop led by facilitators from the Anti Defamation League (ADL), in a program called “Confronting anti-Semitism and Bullying.” There is no Religious School from April 14 – 21 for spring break. Classes will resume on April 24 for grades 5, 6, & 7 and on April 28 for all grades. As always, please feel free to call me with any concerns.

Happy Spring!
